Annapurna Circuit Trek – Jomsom Out

from $0

The Annapurna mountain ranges cover Pokhara like an icy wall, which is 40km across, with nine peaks over 7000m impelling from its ramparts and Annapurna I reigning above them all at 8091m. It’s a region of stunning diversity, ranging from the sodden bamboo forests of the southern slopes (Lumle, northwest of Pokhara, is the wettest village in Nepal) to windswept desert (Jomsom, in the northern rain shadow, is the driest).

As Annapurna region is safer and convenient for travelling, it attracts many visitors. Due to increased number of visitors every year, it has become commercialized and now has very well equipped services; from health facilities in case of emergencies to small hotels and lodges that provide essential services to the customers and trekkers.

The Annapurna Conservation Area Project has been essentially proved to be of great help in preserving the culture and the hills of the Annapurna region providing safer and cleaner sustainable environment in the region itself. The ACAP has also banned drinking water bottles focusing on the promotion of safe drinking water stations; similarly, it has established rubbish pits, latrines and health posts to ensure a safer cleaner environment in the region.
