All about the Chitwan Jungle Safari – 2 Days.

Established as the first national park in Nepal, Chitwan national park is considered as an ultimate tourist attraction. The national park is located in the subtropical inner Terai lowlands of the south central Nepal in the districts of Nawalparasi, Parsa and Chitwan.

The northwest protected area of the Narayani Rapti river system forms a natural boundary to human settlements. Since the end of the 19th century Chitwan has become a favorite hunting ground for many of the ruling class groups of Nepal. Until the 1950s the journey from Kathmandu to Nepal was arduous but in 1950, the area extended more than 2600km, and became the home to 800 rhinos. The park compromises 932 square kilometers of tropical and subtropical vegetation, with grassland, riverine and Sal forest. Three rivers shape most of its boundaries: the Narayani and Rapti in the north, and the Rew flowing through the National Park.

It is a rich natural area in the Terai, the subtropical southern part of Nepal. A total of 68 species of mammals, 544 species of birds, 56 species of herpes to fauna and 126 species of fish have been recorded in the Chitwan national park. The park is especially renowned for its protection of One Horned Rhinoceros, Royal Bengal Tiger and Gharial Crocodile. You will have great chances of spotting some of the great vegetation and animals like Gharials, horned rhinos, deer, monkeys, and some of the more than 500 species of birds. If you’re extremely lucky, you may spot a leopard, wild elephant, or sloth bear –though it’s the once-in-a-lifetime chance to spot a majestic royal Bengal tiger which is the main attraction of the national park here.

Chitwan national park has been for many years the number one choice of many local and international tourists in Chitwan. The spot is growing popular among the travelers these days.
