The country’s landscape ranges from lush subtropical plains in the south to the sub-alpine Himalayan mountains in the north, where there are peaks in an excess of 7,000 meters. The highest mountain in Bhutan is the Gangkhar Puensum, which is also a strong candidate for the highest unclimbed mountain in the world. There is also a diverse wildlife in Bhutan.

Despite great geographical features and scenic brilliance, Bhutan government’s belief in putting “happiness” ahead of capitalism is what makes the access for travelling in this country quite difficult. As the government has put strict rules and regulations for the number of visitors entering in Bhutan, the tourism industry is quite not the hit here. However those who seek solitude with the mountains can preferably take a chance and visit Bhutan. Some of the famous trekking trails around Bhutan are The Jhomolhari Trek, Druk Path Trek, Snowman Trek; Duer Hot springs Trek, Dagala thousand Lake Trek, Bumthang Owl Trek, e.t.c. The trekking routes of Bhutan are usually very challenging and tough in comparison to the Nepal or Tibet treks as these trekking trails are not arranged for tourism purposes but for the locals to travel on a daily basis.
